Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Heard these lines by Robert Frost? These words sum up my whole point of motivation and everything that aim to be. I wake up daily with the sun rays directly falling on my face or I should say sun wishing me some warm morning kisses. The first thing that I say to myself as soon as I wake up is a new day starts and be ready for some new challenges. And that keeps me strong throughout the day even at my worse.

These pictures are of the recent fashion show organised by my university Birla Global University where different universities were a part of it. COSMOS '22 by BGU was the most awaited post-pandemic fest in which a fashion show was a part. With a lot of uncertainty and bewilderment, we were all prepared for the show but seeing the other teams and their confidence we were stunned and were kind of demotivated. We were pretty sure that we will be losing and kept no hope.

Guided by Abhishek Prakash Behera, the Mr Odisha Asia International 2019, Kashis Kumari and mentored by Dr Bhavna Yaduvanshi, Mrs Dubai International classic who is supremely talented and experienced in the field of fashion and modelling, along with a team of 16 members were all geared up to set the stage on fire. Having a team where a maximum of the members were the first-timers and who were new to the ramp was no doubt a tough task for the mentors. Our mentors guided us from the way we walked to our stances and to the way we dressed.

It was no doubt a splendid work of art that all the 16 people standing on the stage could be called as models from that day. They walked, they posed, they held their stances well but a minor mishap happened. One of our team members fell off the stage during the couple ramp. That was the moment of silence for all those people out there. But guess what? We didn't stop. The ramp continued. Even though she fell, by god's grace nothing happened, she got up and she continued. The courage she showed was undoubtedly amazing. That kept the whole team going without a pause because THE SHOW MUST GO ON! 

Finally comes the time of results. We were not at all excited or had any sort of expectations that we will be there as runners up even. Standing against the other tough teams was something too big for us. "But wait a sec, why did they are calling us again bear the stage?" Yes, we were called to the stage which gave us a bit of hope that maybe as runners up we will be standing. 

But to the surprise of all, we were the winners! Winners of COSMOS '22 Fashion show. We shouted we danced we celebrated the victory. We received a cash prize of Rs 5,000 but no cash prize could ever satisfy the happiness of the victory that we had that day. Standing against all odds, we celebrated our courage, our confidence and we celebrated the new us!!
